(b) My plane arrives then ( at that time ) / 그때 ( 그 시간에 )
설명> 관계부사 when은 시간, 때의 부사 then 대신 쓰이면서, 두 문장을 한 문장으로 연결 시켜주기위해서
(관계 맺어주기 위해서) 영어 회화에서 필요한 것 입니다. 이 then 은 at that time, on that day 처럼
나타낼 수도 있는데, 이때는 in which, on which 로 나타낼 수도 있습니다. 자세한 것은 제2부를 참고하세요.
예문1) 1960 is the year. The revolution took place then ( in that year )
= 1960 is the year when the revolution took place.
= 1960 is the year in which the revolution took place.
= 1960 is the year that the revolution took place
= 1960 is the year the revolution took place

1. 관계부사 when 이 뭐예요? 어떻게 써요?
where - 장소를 나타내는 장소부사 ( there ) 를 대신하면서, 두 문장을 한 문장으로 연결 시켜줌 (관계 맺어줌).
when - 때를 나타내는 부사 ( then ) 을 대신하면서, 두 문장을 한 문장으로 연결 시켜줌 (관계 맺어줌)
(a) 나는 그 날을 결코 잊지 않을 것이다. ( I will never forget the day )
(b) 나는 그 날 당신을 만났다. ( I met you on that day )
-> I will never forget the day on which I met you.
-> I will never forget the day that I met you.
-> I will never forget the day (생략) I met you.
(c) 나는 그 날을 결코 잊지 않을 것이다. ( I will never forget the day )
(d) 나는 그때 당신을 만났다. ( I met you then )
-> I will never forget the day when I met you.
(a) 7:05 is the time.
(b) My plane arrives then ( at that time ) / 그때 ( 그 시간에 )
-> 7:05 is the time when my plane arrives.
-> 7:05 is the time at which my plane arrives.
-> 7:05 is the time that my plane arrives.
-> 7:05 is the time (생략) my plane arrives.
설명> 관계부사 when은 때를 나타내는 부사 ( then )를 대신 하면서 두 문장을 한 문장으로 할때 씁니다.
반면에, '그때 ( then )' 을 그 시간에 ( at that time ), 그 날에 ( on that day ) 라고 할때는 물건을 나타내는
대명사이니까, 관계대명사 which에 전치사 on, at 를 써서 on which , at which 로 나타내게 돼죠!
<추가 설명>
1. 관계부사 when 은 때를 나타내는 말 ( time, year, day, century 등) 을 수식하는 것 입니다.
2. 때를 나타내는 관계부사절에서, 전치사는 꼭 which 앞에 둡니다. 그렇게 않은 경우는 생략합니다.
