설명> 이유를 나타내는 a/the reason why 의 why 를 이유를 나타내는 관계부사라고 합니다.
why 가 수식하는 선행사(명사)는 꼭 reason 이라는 명사가 되서, '....하는 이유' 가 됩니다.
이 why 는 that 으로 바꿔서 표현 가능하고, 또 생략해도 됩니다. 자세한 것은 제2를 참고하세요!
예문1) This is the reason why I cannot agree with you.
= This is the reason that I cannot agree with you.
= This is the reason I cannot agree with you. (why 가 생략됨)
= This is why I cannot agree with you. (the reason이 생략됨)
예문2) I can't think of any reason why they gave up the plan.
= I can't think of any reason that they gave up the plan.
= I can't think of any reason (생략) they gave up the plan.

1. 이유를 나타내는 the reason why 의 why 는 뭐예요? 어떻게 써요?
Tell me the reason why you look so happy today 너 그렇게 행복해 보이는 이유를 말해죠!
= Tell me the reason that you look so happy today.
= Tell me the reason (생략) you look so happy today.
= Tell me why you look so happy today ( the reason 을 생략가능 )
This is the reason why I left early 이게 내가 빨리 떠난 이유야.
= This is the reason that I left early
= This the reason (생략) I left early.
= This is why I left early. ( the reason 을 생략가능 )
설명> 이때의 why 를 관계부사라고 하고, '...하는 이유' 라는 절을 이끌어서 a/the reason 이라는
명사(선행사)를 수식하게 해 줍니다. 이때의 why;
1) 관계부사 why 의 선행사는 반드시 (a/the/any) reason 이라는게 특징입니다.
2) why 를 that 바꿔 표현 가능
2) why 를 생략 가능
3) the reason 를 생략하고, why 만으로 표현 가능

1. 관계부사 why 를 ' for + which ' 로 표현할 수도 있지만, 이는 거의 안 쓰입니다.
(a) I cannot think of the reason.
(b) They gave up the plan for that reason.
=> I cannot think of the reason for which they gave up the plan. ( 거의 사용하지 않습니다 )
